Lift Table Ladder Parts & Services Manual
General Information
Read and understand this manual before installation, use, and maintenance for your lift. Please be sure that no individual is allowed to use this lift unless they have been fully trained and familiarized with the operating instructions of this manual. Also, ensure that at least one person on site is familiar with the maintenance section of this manual and is responsible for performing the defined tasks. Lift Table Ladder (LTL) vertically positions materials at comfortable heights for improved ergonomics and productivity. The Lift Table Ladder is designed to reduce physical strain, fatigue, and prevent injury by eliminating heavy lifting, bending, and reaching. Please consult a dealer or sales representative for application specific needs.
General Safety
- Read and understand all instructions and warnings before using or servicing this equipment.
- Keep these instructions for future reference.
- This unit shall only be used indoors in an industrial setting on a hard, nonslip, and level floor without irregularities including but not limited to holes, gouges, cracks, drains or obstacles comprised of concrete or other suitable industrial material.
- Perform system and safety checks before operating.
- Failure to follow these instructions and warnings may result in property damage, personal injury or death.
WORK AREA
- Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered work areas and poor lighting can lead to accidents.
- Clean up/contain any fluid spills immediately to prevent slips or falls.
- Be aware of potential hazards when performing any service or maintenance to the unit.
SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Service personnel shall wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate for the task being performed.
LOCKOUT/TAGOUT
Lockout/tagout the LTL unit if damaged or not functioning properly. Lockout/tagout and de-energize all systems prior to performing any maintenance or service to unit(s).
LEAD-ACID BATTERIES – EXPLOSION HAZARD
DO NOT allow open flames or sparks of any kind near a battery. Highly explosive gas is generated when charging a battery that can remain in battery cells for extended periods of time after charging is complete.
- Always wear appropriate PPE including rubber apron, gloves, boots and full face shield when performing service or maintenance to any lead-acid batteries.
This unit is not approved for outdoor use. The Lift Table Ladder is not weather resistant and must be stationed indoors at all times.

Any instance in which the lift table ladder is impacted by a fork truck, transport vehicle, or other equipment, the unit should be inspected by the appropriate personnel to ensure structural integrity. For replacement parts, please contact your dealer or BHS Technical Support.
Only one person may occupy and operate this unit at a time.
Operational Safety
The following instructions will guide you through the basic steps necessary to properly and safely operate this unit. Before using the Lift Table Ladder, the operator should:
- Read and understand this manual and the operating instructions.
- Be thoroughly trained on the use and safety of this unit.
- Inspect for proper operating conditions and safety devices.
- Check for and eliminate any obstructions in the travel path.
- Inspect all electrical connections to ensure they are complete and operational.
KEEP HANDS, ARMS, FEET, LEGS, HAIR, CLOTHING, AND JEWELRY OUT OF THE CARRIAGE TRAVEL PATH WHILE THE UNIT IS IN OPERATION.
OPERATING THE LIFT TABLE LADDER
Modifications, alterations, and additions to this unit shall not be made without prior written consent from the manufacturer. Customers are responsible for the proper maintenance and upkeep of the unit upon receipt of the product.
NEVER EXCEED THE RATED CAPACITY. This unit is rated for a maximum of 450 LBS. Exceeding this limit can result in damage to the unit, shorten the product’s lifespan, and void the unit’s warranty.
NEVER ALLOW OPERATION IF THE LOAD IS NOT CENTERED. Exceeding these limits can lead to binding, mechanical failure, or damage to the product.
ALWAYS ALLOW THE LIFT TABLE LADDER TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP PRIOR TO HANDLING. Failure to allow LTL to complete its travel can result in damage to the product.
ALWAYS KEEP LTL TRAVEL PATH CLEAR. The LTL travel path must always be clear of objects and personnel during operation. Failure to do so may lead to serious personal injury or death.
ALWAYS ENGAGE THE FLOOR LOCK PRIOR TO OPERATION OF THE LTL. Failure to engage the floor lock may lead to serious personal injury or death.
ALWAYS MAINTAIN A 3-POINT CONTACT (TWO HADNS AND A FOOT, OR TWO FEET AND A HAND) WHEN CLIMBING OR DESCENDING THE LIFT TABLE LADDER.
Operation Instructions
CONTROLS
- The lift is equipped standard with a push-button pendant control.
- The ↑UP↑ button RAISES the platform. The lift will only raise when the ↑UP↑ button is pressed.
- The ↓DOWN↓ button LOWERS the platform. The lift will only lower when the ↓DOWN↓ button is pressed.
- To stop the lift at any time, release the button from the pendant controller, deactivating the switch.
OPERATIONAL TEST
After the initial installation has been completed, or any service to the unit has been performed, an operational test should be conducted to ensure proper operation of the LTL unit.
KEEP HANDS, ARMS, FEET, LEGS, HAIR, AND JEWELRY OUT OF THE ROLLER TRACK AND TRAVEL PATH WHILE THE UNIT IS OPERATING.
- Carefully watch the lift as it raises to ensure proper function of all mechanical and electrical components.
- DO NOT operate the lift if any damage or unusual noise is observed.
- Lockout/Tagout the unit and immediately notify your supervisor or maintenance personnel if the unit is found to be operating abnormally.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
The following instructions will guide you through the basic steps necessary to properly and safely operate this lift. Before using this lift, the operator should:

RAISING THE PLATFORM
1) Raise the platform by pressing the ↑UP↑ button on the pendant.
2) When the desired platform height is reached, release the ↑UP↑ button, deactivating the switch.
LOADING THE PLATFORM
The load capacity rating is also stated on capacity labels throughout the unit. Refer to Section “CHASSIS” of this manual. Modifications and additions to this lift shall not be made without prior written consent from the manufacturer.
- NEVER EXCEED THE LOAD CAPACITY RATING. Overloading the lift will result in severe personal injury or death, cause structural damage to the lift, shorten the life of the lift, and void the unit’s warranty.
- ALWAYS BALANCE & CENTER THE LOAD. Balanced and centered loads will promote the longest life of the unit and ensure even wear on all moving parts.
- ALWAYS SECURE THE LOAD. A balanced and secure load is the safest means of lifting the load.
LOWERING THE PLATFORM
1) Lower the platform by pressing the ↓DOWN↓ button on the pendant.
2) When the desired platform height is reached, release the ↓DOWN↓ button, deactivating the switch.
ALWAYS transport the load to and from the lift platform using an approved and certified method.
3) Center, balance, stabilize, and secure the load. See Figure 1. Secure the load when necessary using an appropriately rated tie-down.
4) With the load properly positioned and secured, the platform can be raised to the desired height.
NEVER operate the lift if you cannot see the load or nearby personnel. Keep Clear while the lift is in operation and be alert to personnel in the area.
UNLOADING THE PLATFORM
1) Lower the platform to the desired height for unloading.

2) Remove the load from the lift platform.
ALWAYS transport the load to and from the lift platform using an approved and certified method
Operator's Daily Checklist
Service & Maintenance
The following are the basic practices necessary to properly and safely service and maintain this unit. It is recommended that a routine maintenance program be enforced to prolong the life of the unit and prevent costly repairs or downtime. Before servicing this unit, the operator should:
- Read and understand this manual and the service and maintenance instructions.
- Understand mechanical devices and their associated electrical circuits.
- Be thoroughly trained on the use and safety of this unit.
SAFE SERVICE PRACTICES
Failure to follow proper safety procedures will result in serious personal injury or death.
- Inspect the lift in regular intervals: daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. See pages B.4, C.1, C.2 & C.3 of this manual.
- DO NOT ignore a unit in need of repair. A unit in disrepair can be a severe hazard to persons and/or property when left unattended.
- Use only BHS approved replacement parts.
- Observe and identify all potential hazards prior to servicing the unit.
- NEVER apply a load to the platform unless the base frame is continuously supported and properly anchored.
NEVER WORK UNDER THE LIFT WHILE POWER IS CONNECTED. Failure to follow this safety practice will result in serious personal injury or death.

These recommendations are based on average use in a typical warehouse environment and may need adjustment based on individual circumstances. Dusty and/or extreme hot/cold environments may require more frequent lubrication.
MOUNTED BEARINGS
The mounted bearings on the lower and upper roller shafts are sealed and shielded ball bearings.
DO NOT lubricate these bearings.
DO NOT clean this unit with a high pressure wash.
Wipe the unit down with a clean, dry cloth when cleaning is required.
